We all know that obesity is increasing in certain areas throughout the world and the future of it does indeed look bleak, with over half our population being obese it is no surprise that if we project forward 10 to 20 years or so we will see a significant increase in weight related health problems such as heart attacks, strokes, depression etc, all of which will place a heavy and rather unnecessary burden on the health systems.

What is Sportkin?
(Tell them) Sportkin is an online platform designed to help people locate or initiate sporting activities in their local area, this can be used for people from all walks of life and sporting abilities.

If I were a parent and I wanted to organise a regular basketball game each Friday, I would log into Sportkin and create the event online, automatically sending out a notification to anyone in my area who has selected basketball in their list of sports they like, they would then contact me and the rest is history. Or perhaps a retired elderly couple wish to keep active and socialise with others. They can log into the Sportkin database and find other retirees who wish to regularly have walks through the park.
